Happy New Year!
My eldest granddaughter has a special place in my heart. Not that I don’t adore all my grandchildren but this one has just an extra smidgeon of gorgeousness, for me -personally.
So her 18th birthday was coming up & a gift for her was causing me some serious thought. I had already done a ring making workshop with Claire & I also received her emails & hey presto, a lightbulb moment. I would make her a bracelet! A me-made gift (with help of course) from me to her - perfect.
The day arrived, I knew what I wanted to do so all good! With Claire’s excellent guidance & input from the other would be ‘jewellers’ my ideas for the bracelet changes & crystallised. The copper practise one went well. I was confident & ready to do the silver one. But DISASTER…. I made a spelling mistake on the message on the inside of the bangle. I was so upset - tears & tantrums in all honesty! However, Claire to the rescue! Bless her she sorted me out, & in her own time put the whoopsie right & I received the bracelet in time for the big birthday
I loved making it & happily my granddaughter loves it & wears it & that, if nothing else, makes me happy. A special gift for a special girl.
