Sparkly Christmas Plans
At the moment, I am knee deep in planning my christmas windows for the shop. I have had Mr H already up in the loft pulling out things I am intending to use and some elves arrived as special deliveries this week! The shop has 5 windows and I am treating them like primary school display boards! We are hoping to unveil our windows in the middle of November and let me tell you this, Mr H is excited to be including a model railway!
My first Christmas event this year is a favourite of mine - Ely Cathedral Christmas Fair. It runs from Wednesday 20th November to Saturday 23rd. Tickets are available online and my position is underneath the stunning octagon at the top of the main aisle. I would love to see you there, its always a beautiful event and should be near the top of your list if you like a festive fair.
I am planning some short workshops during which you will be able to make some christmas jewellery as gifts. I am aiming for hour long workshops, a wide selection of sparkly beads and some inspiration so you can make some earrings to take away and gift wrap for friends and family. You can book these workshops in advance on my website, or you can run the risk of arriving on the day. (Booking ahead is always preferable!) Just head to my Events page for all the details.
Fakenham's Christmas Tree Festival starts on Thursday 28th November and that is our first late night shopping event in the shop. Every Thursday leading up to christmas, we will be open from 5-8pm. There will be mince pies and fizz available and as many sparkly lights as I can possibly fit in the shop!
Fakenham Light Switch on is Saturday 30th November and will be open later to make the most of the festive atmosphere. The events committee in the town have planned craft stalls in the Market Place, the lights switch on, live music and we will be open 10-5.30pm with mince pies, fizz and lots of sparkly christmas style jewellery!
Thornham Bag Ladies do a wonderful job in the community of handmaking lots of goodies and raising money for facilities for everyone to make the most of. Their annual christmas event is on Saturday 7th December and its where I will be picking up my christmas pudding. Do pop it in your diary for a walk along the beach, refuel at the Thornham Deli and then a browse of some really talented makers.
My last christmas market this year is at Holkham Hall. This year it is a 3 day event - Friday-Sunday 13th-15th December. I've already got my winter thermals sorted and twinkly lights for my wooden cabin and honestly, it is a fabulous event. Please do come along for a really thoughtfully curated market.
The last date for postage of jewellery is Friday 20th December and my shop will be closing for christmas on Saturday 21st December at 4pm.
As you know my commissions book is now closed. I am passionate about making something special for special people, but that kind of jewellery making also requires time and concentration and I want to be able to do a lovely job for you. That doesn't happen if I am stretched for time, I hope you understand and are not too disappointed.
I love Christmas and love all the stories you share about why you are choosing the piece of jewellery for that special person, I really hope to hear more this christmas and ask you to please share them with me.
