New Year, New Stories

New Year, New Stories

As January unfolds, bringing its promise of fresh starts and new beginnings, I’ve been thinking about how to make my website an even more meaningful place. For me, the heart of what I do isn’t just crafting jewellery—it’s being part of the stories they hold and the connections they represent. That’s why I’m introducing a new addition to my website this year: a dedicated page celebrating your stories.

A Place for Stories That Sparkle
The upcoming Storyteller page (name still to be confirmed!) will be a space to share the romantic, heartwarming, and inspiring stories tied to my jewellery. From tokens of love to thoughtful gifts for friends, jewellery has a way of capturing emotions and memories in a uniquely personal way.

Over the years, I’ve been honoured to hear your stories. Whether at fairs or through emails or lately in my shop, so many of you have shared the deeply personal connections tied to a piece of jewellery. It might be a pendant that reminds you of someone special, a set of rings gifted to mark a milestone birthday, or a bracelet symbolising friendship. These stories stay with me and remind me why I love what I do.

One example from my testimonials captures this beautifully. A customer shared how she bought my Holkham Beach bangle as a gift for her daughter, who had always loved walking that stretch of shoreline. The bangle became a way for her to carry a piece of Norfolk with her wherever she went and that is across the other side of the world, a reminder of home and family even when miles apart. Stories like this remind me that jewellery can be more than a beautiful accessory—it can be a bridge to the people and places we hold dear.

The Gift of Storytelling
One particularly touching moment came recently when I met E at a celebration for my most loyal customer, who was shaving her head in support of breast cancer. E approached me with a heartfelt request: she wanted a bangle made in celebration of her dad, whom she had recently lost. She sent me a photo of her dad on the marshes at Brancaster, a place filled with memories and meaning for their family. Together, we used that image as inspiration to create a piece that honoured his memory. Being part of such a deeply personal story was a privilege and a reminder of the emotional power jewellery can hold.

It’s these moments, shared with me in person or through emails, that inspired me to create this new page. I wanted to build a space where these special connections can be celebrated and shared with others. Jewellery is more than silver or gold; it’s the memories and emotions we attach to it that make it truly shine.

A Season for Love
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, it feels like the perfect time to launch this idea. February, despite its often grey and dreary weather, always feels a little brighter when we’re reminded of the love and kindness that surround us. My hope is that the Storyteller page will become a place for warmth and connection all year round, showcasing stories that inspire, make us smile, and remind us of what matters most.

What’s Next?
In the coming weeks via my mini mail and my social media, I’ll be sharing more details about how you can contribute to this exciting new chapter. Whether it’s a romantic tale, a token of friendship, or a memory tied to one of my designs, I can’t wait to celebrate your stories on this special new page.

Here’s to a year of fresh beginnings, meaningful connections, and plenty of sparkle.
