BBC Countryfile Live Show
September 2018
Oh my! It's been such a long time since I wrote a blog post... this summer seems to have lasted an age (thanks to the wonderful sunshine) and yet with Small back at school now, it seems to be over in a blink!
They say this summer matches 1976 (there are all sorts of stats to back that up), this year we didn't go away and yet managed to enjoy lots of days on the beach and in the garden or just sheltering in the cool corners of our house.
Jewellery wise it has been a really busy summer starting with the BBC Countryfile Show at Blenheim Palace. When I was invited to have a stand I was absolutely thrilled but in terms of price and size, it was a much bigger fair than I have ever done before. I absolutely loved it! I loved the challenge of putting together a stand which reflected the ethos of my jewellery (simple and delicate) yet it had to stand out amongst the sheer volume of other talented makers. I also loved the challenge of making enough jewellery to sell.... that kept me really busy! It was a great show, I met so many wonderful makers including talented and local Penny Lindop who was next door to me, Caunerie Soaperie, the fascinating Andy Beck author of the Countryfile Book of the Year, I fell in love with the amazing Fauxidermy's textile sculptures and lastly but by no means least Debbie from Jabberwocky who also is local. I also managed to wander in to some Countryfile filming as well as meet the amazing Gareth Wyn Jones and the beautiful Ellie Harrison. Wowsers!
